Clear JSON. Same data.

Validate, format or minify JSON in your browser. Change the whitespace while keeping the original numbers, keys and string escapes.

200,000 UTF-16 input units · 100 nesting levels · 1,000,000 output units.

Paste JSON to begin.

Validate and format

  1. Paste JSON, including an object, array or valid top-level value such as a string, number, boolean or null.
  2. Format uses two-space indentation. Minify removes insignificant whitespace outside strings. Both validate syntax first and keep the original input unchanged.
  3. Review and copy the result. Editing input or processing invalid JSON clears the old result and disables copying so stale output is not mistaken for the new input.

Preserving numbers and keys

The browser parser checks syntax, but its parsed values are not serialized into the output. The formatter copies original tokens and changes only whitespace around them. Large integers, exponent notation, negative zero, duplicate keys, key order and escaped Unicode therefore keep their original spelling.

Preserving duplicate keys does not make them interoperable: downstream software may keep only one occurrence. Likewise a downstream parser may round large numbers. This tool validates JSON syntax, not application schemas, uniqueness rules or business meaning.

Arabic, strings and errors

Arabic and emoji inside strings are preserved. Whitespace inside strings and existing escape sequences stay exactly as entered. JSON code fields remain left-to-right in the Arabic RTL interface. Use double quotes around property names and strings; JavaScript comments, single-quoted strings and trailing commas are not JSON.

Limits and copying

Input is limited to 200,000 UTF-16 code units and 100 nesting levels. Output is capped at 1,000,000 units to limit indentation expansion. Very constrained devices may still be unable to process input within these limits. If clipboard access fails, the result is selected for manual copying.

Release note

Version 1.0.0 extracts the legacy formatter into an independent bilingual plugin. JSON.parse remains the syntax validator, while token-preserving whitespace formatting replaces JSON.stringify to avoid rounding numbers or dropping duplicate keys. Added explicit limits, empty/invalid-input errors, clear, stale-output invalidation and clipboard error handling.
